Olivia Colman has added a new line to her CV: runway model. The Oscar-winning British actor walked in Miu Miu's spring/summer 2027 show at Paris Fashion Week on October 4, WWD reports, in what the magazine describes as her runway debut.

The skirt was accessorised with a black belt featuring silver grommet detailing and chain accents, according to WWD, and Colman wore brown leather boat shoes, a staple of Miu Miu's footwear line.

The Independent describes the same look as a black leather blazer with a matching knee-length skirt, worn on a royal purple runway.

Later in the day, Colman attended the brand's after-party in a second suiting moment, WWD reports. She wore a deep blue oversized blazer with checked blue and white lining over a collared grey sweater, with oversized jeans.

WWD says she carried a slouchy brown leather Miu Miu bag and wore burgundy pointed-toe patent leather slingback heels with gold buckles, a style the magazine says retails for $1,450 on the brand's website.

Colman was in good company. The Independent reports that Emma Corrin, Gigi Hadid and Jamie Bell also walked. The show was staged at the Palais d'Iena, The Independent reports, in what WWD describes as a gymnasium setting. Emma Mackey, Amelia Dimoldenberg, Nara Smith, Alexa Chung, Ella Bright and Thai actor Becky Armstrong watched from the front row, and Miuccia Prada herself appeared at the end in a blue V-neck jumper and midi skirt, giving the audience a wave.

Why Miu Miu casts actors

Celebrity casting has become something of a Miu Miu tradition, The Independent notes, with previous shows putting actors including Willem Dafoe, Richard E Grant and Gillian Anderson on the runway. It reflects Miuccia Prada's fondness for characters rather than a conventional cast of models.

WWD traces this taste for the unexpected back to Prada's so-called Ugly Chic collection of 1996, which subverted conventional high-fashion dressing. Prada explained her casting approach to WWD: "We try to do all, young, new faces and some older women, some men, some different characters."

The collection itself suited Colman's look.
